Jagger's Ex Jerry Hall To Auction Freud Portrait
Jerry Hall is shedding high-end souvenirs from her past with ex-husband Mick Jagger next month. The Texas-born model is allowing Sotheby's to auction off items from her private art collection on October 15th and 16th. Included in the anticipated 14 lots is an intimate portrait of Hall called "Eight Months Gone." The 1997 piece by British painter Lucian Freud features Hall nude and eight months pregnant. Also going to the blocks is "Dollar Sign" by Andy Warhol. The piece was a gift from the late pop artist to Hall for her assistance with his television show "Warhol TV." Other Jerry Hall items to be auctioned by Sotheby's include original works by Robert Graham, David Bailey, and Damien Hirst.
The 54-year-old Hall has said that she's offering the valuable artwork for sale to let go of the past. Hall started dating Jagger in the late-1970s and eventually married the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer in 1990. The couple -- who have four children together -- parted ways in 1999. |
