Miranda Lambert Leads CMA Nominees At Record Pace
Miranda Lambert leads the list of nominees heading into the 44th Annual Country Music Association Awards this November. The final five CMA categories were revealed Wednesday morning on ABC's "Good Morning America" and Lambert was on hand to help announce her own name in several categories, including Female Vocalist of the Year and the coveted Entertainer of the Year category. With a record nine CMA nominations between the nominees announced Tuesday and Wednesday, Lambert now holds the distinction of being the female artist with the most nominations for a single awards show in the history of the CMAs. Alan Jackson received ten nominations in 2002 and, before that, Merle Haggard held the record with nine in 1970.
Other multiple CMA nominees this year include Lady Antebellum. The trio earned a total of five nods between the two-day nominations roll-out. The Zac Brown Band and Blake Shelton landed four nominations each. Brad Paisley, Trace Adkins and Dierks Bentley walked away with three nods a piece. Paisley and double-nominee Carrie Underwood will co-host the 44th Annual CMA Awards from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on November 10th. ABC will air the ceremony live starting at 8:00 pm Eastern.
