Lauryn Hill "Honored" To Play Rock The Bells
The 2010 edition of the Rock The Bells Festival is in the books after concluding in Washington, D.C. on Sunday. Former Fugees singer Lauryn Hill says she was "honored" to be a part of it. She tells MTV.com, quote, "Rock The Bells is one of those few remaining hip-hop banners...as far as independent festivals for hip-hop, they're kind of some of the last people standing doing it. It's an honor to be a part of it." Hill performed at the festival on Saturday night at New York's Governor's Island. She brought Beyonce, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, John Legend, Chris Rock and her own kids on stage with her.
The celebrities came out just to watch the show, as did singer Estelle and comedian Tracy Morgan. Estelle said, quote, "It was amazing to watch her and see her home in New York. I'm a big kid again." |
