Lil Wayne Uses Extended Freedom To Play MSG
What's a guy to do when his court date gets delayed yet again? Get on stage with Jay-Z and Young Jeezy at New York's Madison Square Garden, of course. RollingStone.com reports that's just what rapper Lil Wayne did Tuesday night after his court date was cancelled. Weezy was supposed to be sentenced on weapons charges. But a courthouse fire prevented his hearing from happening. The rapper used his extended freedom to make a stop at Madison Square Garden, where he joined Jay-Z onstage for the "Blueprint 3" tour. It was just 45 minutes into the show when Jigga passed the mic to Young Jeezy, who in turn brought out Wayne's Young Money protege Nikki Minaj for a performance of the hit "Bedrock." Two more surprises came out on stage next -- Lil Wayne and Drake. The four rappers then performed "I'm Goin' In" together.
A three-minute cell phone video of the performance can be seen at Rollingstone.com. Weezy will be back in court on Monday, March 8th for another try at being sentenced on weapons charges. He is expected to be sentenced to a year behind bars, but may serve just eight to ten months for good behavior. |
