King Tut at the Denver Art Museum  |

Starting today, the Denver Art Museum (DAM) will offer a full month of deep discounts and priority ticketing to new and current members for the much-anticipated exhibition, Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs, which opens at the DAM this summer. Featuring more than 100 treasures from ancient Egyptian sites, the show also includes 50 objects from the tomb of King Tut. This exhibition will debut and have its sole Rocky Mountain appearance at the DAM July 1, 2010 through January 2, 2011. The exhibition is organized by the National Geographic Society, Arts and Exhibitions International and AEG Exhibitions, with cooperation from the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities. A portion of the proceeds from the tour will go toward antiquities preservation and conservation efforts in Egypt, including the construction of a new grand museum in Cairo.

Current DAM members and newcomers who join during the month of March can save up to 57 percent on tickets to King Tut purchased between March 1 and March 31. Signing up to become a member during the month of March includes the opportunity to buy weekday tickets for the deepest discounts. Members also have the first chance to see King Tut with exclusive discounted member preview days and the opportunity to select their preferred dates and times to see the show before tickets go on sale to the public. These Early Bird member ticket prices will be available March 1 through March 31, 2010. Starting April 1, regular member ticket prices will apply.
Museum members receive early opportunities to see this stunning exhibition by purchasing their exhibition tickets for exclusive member preview dates, which will take place on June 26, 27 and 28. Current members may buy tickets for previews or regular exhibition dates starting March 1 by visiting www.denverartmuseum.org/tickets or calling 720-865-5000.
